Legendary performance in 2004 at Rebel Salute, Jamaica after his absence on the scene for some 25 years. Now booked for a festival in France (Garance) this summer.
Welcome to my blog! I'm BMC, a music lover and preferably play the good old wax: vinyl 4 life! I use this blog primarily to post my latest reggae mixes, as an archive for tracklists of mixes I did in the past and for further reggae related topics like reviews, videos, information on releases, tourdates and more. Besides reggae, I love numerous other styles like soul, funk, jazz, hiphop, blues, rock & roll and more. When I have something I like to share on those styles like releases, concert experiences or whatever else I'll use this space as well, what explains the blogtitle:
BMC's Reggae Blog + More
Mixes will be available for a short period of time only, after which there'll only be the tracklists that can be used as a reference guide to tunes I rate and recommend. Occasionally I might open the vaults and post a link for one or two of my older mixes when I feel it's an appropriate moment for it. In these mixes I never use full, separate tunes and will never offer these up for download either (so don't ask, I won't reply). It's one continuous mix with added soundeffects all in the good old mixtape tradition. What I try to achieve with these mixes is to show listeners the lovely music that is out there, to make listeners enjoy themselves through the power of the music and last but not least to hopefully introduce listeners to artists, riddims, tunes, producers and / or labels that they otherwise might not have heard of and with that possibly a bit of extra exposure maybe even leading to people buying, visiting shows or at least following those involved more closely. I'm very pleased to have had numerous compliments and comments of appreciation from people in the business (artists, producers and label-owners from JA, UK and EU) encouraging this way of using their music for more exposure and as appreciation for their works! Thanks to all listeners for your support, but also to all included artists, producers, musicians and labels for the great music!
For info, contact or promo-material you'd like me to use in a mix send me a mail at:

If I've used one of your tunes and and you feel it's a bad thing for you and want it removed, let me know via this email-address and I'll do so. Don't go and start complaining to blogger and all. No need, just say the word.
Enjoy the blog and hopefully get inspired to get some releases yourself, nothing beats owning a physical release in my book. Preferably vinyl, but CD's are fine too for me. Support the artist in your own way, music is life!
Peace, BMC
